About the Foundation


The Foundation for Agency Management Excellence (FAME) is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organization administered by The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers and is located in Washington D.C.  FAME is guided by a volunteer board of directors.

The Mission

 

The Council  founded FAME in 1994 to promote leadership and excellence in the agent/broker community through agency management education, training, and research.


 

Scholarship Program

 

In 2006, FAME began an important new initiative: developing future leaders through a scholarship program to support students majoring in risk management and insurance. Click here for more.

Fundraising

 

Identifying and training the next generation of leaders is critical but a much larger FAME endowment is needed to do it. Find out how you can help!

 

 

FAME Host Universities

 

With the selection of 14 scholarship recipients for the 2009-2010 academic year, FAME has awarded a total of 37 grants of $5,000 each.  There are now two scholarships at each of five universities – Howard University, University of Wisconsin Madison, University of Georgia, California State University at Sacramento, and the Katie School at Illinois State University – and new this year, one scholarship at each of four universities - University of Mississippi, Temple University, California State University at Fullerton, and Appalachian State University.

 

For the 2010-2011 academic year, FAME has sponsored 26 $5000 scholarships at 13 universities.  New schools added are Florida State University, Georgia State University, Indiana State University, and Middle Tennessee State University.
