WADE REECE ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Wade Reece of Raleigh, N.C. and chairman and CEO of BB&T Insurance Services, Inc., is the 2010 chairman of The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers. Reece, head of BB&T Insurance Services since 1990, was elected chairman during a general membership meeting held in conjunction with the 96th annual Insurance Leadership Forum, the premier networking event for the commercial insurance industry, succeeding Markham McKnight, president of BancorpSouth Insurance Services, Inc. Reece also currently serves as Chairman of AmRisc, LLP, American Coastal Insurance Company, CRC Insurance Services, Inc., McGriff, Seibels & Williams, Inc. and BB&T Insurance Services of California, Inc., providing a strong, unified leadership of all BB&T Insurance operations. A 1978 graduate of North Carolina State University, Mr. Reece began his financial career that same year in the BB&T Management Development Program in Wilson, NC. Following this intensive training, he worked on the banking side of BB&T as a City Executive and Area Manager until 1990, when he became a manager of BB&T Insurance Services in Raleigh. Outside the office, Mr. Reece leads an active life marked by involvement in organizations representing his professional, personal and community interests. He puts his expertise to good use as a member of the Departmental Advisory Board for Finance, Banking, and Insurance Degreed Programs at Appalachian State University. He also serves as a member on the Board of Trustees for the American Institute for CPCU and Insurance Institute of America, where he is on the Executive Committee. He serves the community through his work with the North Carolina Food Bank, North Carolina Symphony, Preservation North Carolina and as a member of the Raleigh Moravian Church. As chairman of The Council, Reece leads a team of officers including Vice Chairman James R.
