Management Resources Working Group

The Management Resources Working Group (MRWG) was formed in 2008 to provide support and resources to member firms to help them with a wide range of labor and management issues. Currently, the 40-member steering committee, comprised of member firm executives and senior staff with strong knowledge of and/or a leadership role pertaining to organizational management and staffing issues, is divided into five major areas of interest: Leadership Development; Talent Acquisition and Retention; Mergers and Acquisitions; Industry Recognition; and Training (both sales and non-sales training.)

The sub-committees are currently working on several projects and are developing proposals for new Council initiatives, including:

  • A 5-module, 27-course online training program covering industry basics, client relationship management skills, consultative selling skills, management skills, fundamental business skills and a coaches’ module to support trainee learning on the job.
  • A joint CFO/MRWG meeting to include a leadership development workshop, networking opportunities and topical discussion groups.
  • A comprehensive and integrated approach to help solve the industry’s labor problem, including best practices to hiring and developing new producers, a “how to” guide to developing and implementing an effective internship program, comprehensive training solutions, and leadership development resources.

For more information, contact the group’s leader, Julia Kramer who is The Council’s Senior Vice President, Office of the President, at Julia.Kramer@ciab.com.
