Scholarship Program

Studies show that internships are the insurance brokerage industry's most successful tool in the recruitment of college students. In light of that, part of The Council Foundation's mission is to bring fresh, diverse talent into the brokerage sector by way of internships with Council member firms.

Designed to cultivate the next generation of industry leaders, this program gives your firm's interns the opportunity to be nominated by you for a $5,000 scholarship.

Since 2017, The Council Foundation Scholarship Program has awarded nearly $4.4 million in academic scholarships to 800+ interns, including seven named scholarships:

2026 Scholarship Program & Eligibility

Enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s or associate degree program at an accredited educational institution.
Entering junior or senior year.
No relation to an executive at the nominating firm.
No relation to any member of the review committee (a committee of three colleagues at your firm).
Completion of Intro to Insurance (on-demand onboarding course).

Deadline to confirm your firm’s participation in the program.
July 10: Deadline for firms to submit names of nominees.
July 27: Scholarship recipients announced.
August 3: Scholarship disbursement begins.
