Data Privacy
I acknowledge that CIAB will process (collect, use and store) my personal data. Personal data consists of my title, name, address, employer, email address, phone number and other personal data that I voluntary disclose to CIAB. It includes photographs and videos and, if I am a presenter, voice recordings taken at CIAB events. CIAB processes my personal data to pursue its legitimate interests, such as: (a) its objectives as an association; (b) to enable event registration; (c) to review, evaluate and administer promotions or other CIAB initiatives; and (d) to promote and directly market CIAB activities.
Providing my personal data is necessary so that CIAB can prepare or perform a contract with me, including providing services I have requested or to identify myself when accessing the CIAB’s website or participating in its events. I acknowledge that, if I do not provide the personal data that CIAB needs, CIAB may not be able to provide services to me.
CIAB processes my personal data only for as long as necessary for the performance of a contract it may have with me and to provide its services, or to pursue its legitimate interests.
CIAB may share photos and videos with the general public and, except for my email address and phone number, share my personal data with third parties that perform services on behalf of CIAB. Only persons who need to will have access to personal data, such as employees and representatives of CIAB and its processors.
We may transfer, process, and store your Personal Information outside of your home country, including in the United States and Canada, or other jurisdictions with a comparable protection standard. For the avoidance of doubt, if you are a resident in the European Economic Area (“EEA”) or the United Kingdom (“UK”) this may include the transfer of your Personal Information from within the EEA or UK to a country outside of the EEA or UK. When applicable, we have put in place appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and the UK Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses, as well as technical safeguards in accordance with legal requirements and the recommendations of the European Data Protection Board.
I have the right to object to the processing and to request that CIAB shall no longer process my personal data unless it demonstrates compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override my interests, rights, and freedoms, or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. At any time, I have the right to request that CIAB cease to process my personal data for direct marketing purposes.
I have the right to access my personal data, to have it corrected (rectified) or deleted (erased), and, when technically feasible, to request the return of my personal data or to have it transferred directly to another controller. Reasonable access to my personal data will be provided at no cost.
Any questions, requests, or complaints related to this privacy notice can be addressed to CIAB at webmaster@ciab.com. In addition, complaints can be addressed to CIAB at this address or to the appropriate data protection authority.
