Legal Counsel Working Group Meeting Recap February 2024

The Legal Counsel Working Group met February 5, 2024, in Washington, D.C. for legislative and regulatory updates. Discussions covered government funding, the 2024 election outlook, PBM transparency legislation, cannabis banking (SAFE Act), NAIC/NCOIL activity, surplus lines, and cancellation notice requirements. Subgroup reports addressed health, rebating, producer licensing, and small department legal operations. Expiring TCJA provisions and their implications for employer-sponsored insurance were also raised as a near-term concern.
