The Professional Employee Benefits Consultant (PEBC™) designation is a premier early-career program for professionals in Employee Benefits brokerage. Developed by The Council in partnership with The Institutes Agent & Broker Group, the PEBC™ program equips new benefits professionals with the knowledge and confidence needed to advise clients, understand plan design and compliance, and apply learning directly on the job.
The PEBC™ program is designed for new-to-the-industry Employee Benefits professionals, typically with less than two years of experience. It’s particularly valuable for:

Yes. Participants in both the Hybrid and On-Demand formats can earn Continuing Education (CE) credits in select states. The Council provides guidance on CE eligibility, requirements, and documentation so participants can apply credits toward professional licensing or ongoing education requirements.

There are no formal prerequisites to enroll in the PEBC™ program. It’s intended for professionals in Employee Benefits brokerage who are in the early stages of their careers, whether newly licensed or transitioning from another area of insurance or HR consulting.

Participants at Council member firms can build on their success by enrolling in advanced programs such as Broker Smackdown or The Council at Lloyd’s.
