2026 Voter Education Guide

Industry-focused resources to help you make informed decisions at the polls.

There is much at stake for Council member firms in the 2026 Midterms, which could bring sweeping changes to the congressional landscape and balance of power in our country. Our 2026 Voter Education Guide is designed to empower your teams to make educated decisions on behalf of our industry when they head to the polls — with vetted, bipartisan, industry-focused resources that connect the dots between candidates and The Council’s legislative agenda.

But first…the Primaries

Healthcare affordability and Medicare for All will be central issues in this election. Additionally, there are ongoing efforts to address the insurance premium crisis at the federal level, through tort and legal system abuse reform. Now is the time to vote in your state primary election.

Find out where your candidates stand on our key issues

As a bipartisan business association, The Council does not make political endorsements. Our goal is to give you the information you need on our legislative priorities, so you can conduct your own research on congressional candidates in your district and see where they stand on these issues:

  • Medicare for All
A single-payer, Medicare for All model would significantly disrupt how the majority of Americans receive their health insurance. The Council opposes this type of system because it compromises the insurance of 180 million Americans receiving coverage on the employer-provided insurance market.

  • Tort Reform, Legal System Abuse & Third-Party Litigation Funding
The misuse of our civil justice system for profit vs. justice is significantly impacting our members’ ability to secure affordable, quality coverage for their clients. The Council is engaged in state and federal efforts to combat legal system abuse, advance tort reform and increase transparency around third-party litigation funding.

  • Healthcare Pricing Transparency
Today, most Americans pay a fee for every service, drug, and test. Because there is no standard for pricing, healthcare consumers are virtually in the dark about how prices are set. The Council supports efforts to increase healthcare pricing transparency, including putting a stop to surprise medical billing, strengthening transparency requirements across the supply chain, and increasing access to data for group health plans.
