The Professional Risk Consultant (PRC®) designation is the premier early-career training program for Property/Casualty insurance professionals. Created by The Council in partnership with The Institutes Agent & Broker Group, the PRC® builds the technical and client-service skills needed to succeed in today’s brokerage firms. Participants learn to analyze risk, understand core coverages, and apply knowledge directly on the job while earning Continuing Education (CE) credits.
-
The PRC® program is designed for new-to-the-industry Property/Casualty professionals, typically with less than two years of experience. It’s especially valuable for:
- Producers or consultants
- Account managers and executives

Participants should be working within a brokerage environment and ready to strengthen their technical knowledge and client advisory skills.

There are two ways to earn the PRC® designation, allowing participants to choose the format that best matches their learning style and schedule:
- PRC® Hybrid (via The Council): A five-month, instructor-led program combining live virtual sessions with independent coursework. Ideal for those who value structure, collaboration, and real-time discussion.
- PRC® On-Demand (via The Institutes): A self-paced, fully online program available 24/7. Perfect for independent learners who want flexibility and the ability to move through material at their own pace.
-
Completion time depends on the format you choose:

- On-Demand: $835 per person, with Council members receiving a 20% discount using code 2025PRC20CIAB.
