CIAB ANNOUNCES 2020 INSURANCE LEADERSHIP FORUM TO TRANSITION TO VIRTUAL

Washington, D.C. – July 7, 2020 – The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers announced that its 107th annual Insurance Leadership Forum (ILF) will transition to take place virtually. ILF is the industry’s premier marketplace meeting for the commercial property/casualty top-tier broker executives and their carrier partners. This year’s forum was scheduled to take place October 2-6 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO.

“ILF has a century-long history rich in tradition for our industry and deciding to cancel was not an easy decision,” said Ken A. Crerar, president/CEO of The Council. ”Preserving the safety and well-being of our community is The Council’s primary concern. Many of our members and carrier executives are still under a travel ban, and there is still too much uncertainty amidst COVID-19 to gather in person this year.”

“Ultimately, our member firms’ top priority right now is to take care of their clients and colleagues,” said David O. Becker, Council Chairman and CEO of Cottingham & Butler. “Convening market leaders, building relationships and sharing ideas to meet the evolving needs of our clients has always been the core of ILF. With that in mind, we’ve chosen to adapt this meeting to allow everyone to convene virtually around the industry’s most-pressing issues, and we anticipate that many of the marketplace meetings will be conducted virtually as well.”

The Council has not yet released information about its virtual program but stated that more details would be made available in the coming weeks.
