g652688g94c80Sabre Corp., the company that process reservations for hundreds of airlines and thousands of hotels has confirmed that their systems have been breached and American Airlines Group Inc., the worlds largest airline carrier, is reporting that it is looking into possible intrusions, according to Bloomberg Business. It is suspected that the same Chinese hacking group responsible for the Anthem and OPM intrusions are behind these most recent attacks, said people close to the investigations.

The hackers are adding to their seemingly massive trove of stolen data. Sabre Corp. is a prime target because of its massive repository of “records on more than a billion travelers per year across the globe.” Experts at American are investigating whether the hackers might have jumped from Sabre’s networks onto theirs because “the carrier shares some network infrastructure with Sabre, a onetime subsidiary that it spun off as a separate company in 2000,” said Bloomberg.
