The point-of-sale systems at food and beverage outlets at 10 Marriott hotel locations suffered a 7-month breach from July 3, 2014, to Feb. 6, 2015, according to White Lodging Services Corp., a Merrillville, Indiana-based, company which operates the food and beverage outlets.
The compromised data includes “names printed on customers’ credit or debit cards, card numbers, their security codes and the cards’ expiration dates.” Early forensic examinations show that the POS systems used at the front desks of the hotels have not been compromised. Additionally, it is believed that guests who charged meals to their room accounts were not affected either. More on the breach and the locations affected can be found here.
