On the eve of its November 30 expiration, Congress passed a bill that extends the National Flood Insurance Program by one week. The measure passed the House on a 350-46 vote and the Senate passed the bill minutes later on a unanimous consent agreement.
The program will now run through December 7.
We expect Congress to attach a longer-term flood insurance extension to the must-pass continuing resolution that is needed to continue funding the government and avoid a shutdown. We will keep you informed of developments.
