In the wake of a massive data breach earlier this year that exposed over 20 million federal government employees’ personnel records, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has hired Clifton Triplett to be OPM’s senior cyber and information technology adviser.
Triplett is a West Point grad who was most recently a managing partner at the consulting firm SteelPointe Partners. He will be responsible for preventing, mitigating, and responding to future cyber incidents and advocating for new IT investments. Triplett will report directly to OPM acting director Beth Cobert.
