UK firm Miller asked Ken Crerar, President/CEO of the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers, to offer some insight on what role the insurance broker can play in the modern world. Technology, Crerar writes, can introduce efficiencies and further simplify purchasing insurance for customers, but broker experience and the high-touch personalized service brokers provide will always be important. “Chatting with a bot and uploading video evidence of your flood damage through an app is not the only experience you want when your head is spinning. You need a real person to help you sort everything out, especially for complex claims. This is the real opportunity for brokers.”
