YELLOW ALERT: New York Financial Services Dept. Releases Proposed Cyber Rule

The Council Seeking Feedback for 30-Day Comment Period

The New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) published a revised version of its proposed cyber rule late yesterday that purportedly responds to many of the criticisms that had been lodged against the initial proposed rule.

According to the department, the rule will be finalized following a 30-day public comment period, and will go into effect March 1.

The Council is preparing a memo for members analyzing the revised proposal and will seek member input before submitting comments to the department next month.
