On March 16, 2017, a joint letter to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin was filed, strongly supporting the “Covered Agreement” that was recently negotiated by the United States and the European Union, resolving several significant prudential insurance and reinsurance matters. The letter was filed by the American Council of Life Insurers, the American Insurance Association, the Reinsurance Association of America and The Council.
