Vice President, Government & Political Affairs
Blaire Bartlett is the Vice President, Government & Political Affairs. She represents The Council member firms and their interests on Capitol Hill, with a focus on flood insurance. Bartlett joined The Council after more than a decade on Capitol Hill supporting moderate Members of Congress where she most recently specialized in financial services, global health, appropriations, and working across the aisle to form coalitions and pass legislation. Bartlett graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala., and was a member of the women’s golf team.
Secret (well, not so secret obsession): Scary movies
Favorite place to travel: Anywhere with water
First Job: Bagging groceries at the Big Bear in Westerville, Ohio
Favorite DC landmark: Mount Vernon (although technically it’s in Alexandria, VA)
Three things I’d bring on a deserted island: A knife, a really long book, and a satellite phone to call for help when I realize I can’t survive on a deserted island.
Dinner party guests (dead or alive): Genghis Khan, Jimmy Fallon and Jack Hanna (but he has to bring some zoo animals)
