How does a country with over 327 million people respond to a pandemic? We’re about to find out. Like the rest of the world, the United States is in uncharted territory. Not only do we have an unfamiliar virus to protect ourselves from, but we also have a 24-hour news cycle, abundant social media platforms, and a shortage of medical supplies. To say this is the stuff of movies (or a cable series!), doesn’t quite cut it; this is real life, and it’s scary. This is exactly why we have the federal government: to help us in times of absolute disaster.
