Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s (D-WA) bill, which calls for a rapid, two-year transition onto a public health plan, is the latest effort to transition the U.S. to a single-payer healthcare system. Critics quickly pointed to the absence of a financing plan, which Jayapal countered by saying she’ll release a separate list of potential ways to fund this transition. Options include a tax on the wealthy or requiring employers to pay into the system.

The Partnership for America’s Health Care Future (PAHCF) responded to the bill with a reality check. Keep up with PAHCF on social media by following them on Twitter @P4AHCF.
