Recent developments from the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca data breach, deemed the Panama Papers, suggest that the breach may have been an inside job. So far, we know an IT worker from the Geneva office has been arrested on charges of data theft and breach of trust. While it is unclear whether the arrest had to do with the actual panama papers leak, it is widely suspected that the two are related. The leak resulted in 11 million internal documents being distributed internationally through the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung. The papers detail tax evasion schemes, money laundering and other crimes associated with billionaires, captains of industry and political leaders across the globe.
