The government is still attempting to reach out to the 21 million people whose records were stolen in a June 2015 data breach. Nearly six months ago, the personal information, including social security numbers and finger prints, of millions of government employees was stolen from the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
In response, the government has now launched a website to help people determine whether their personal information was compromised in the June cyber-attack. The delayed response has resulted in tension among the public who believe the government did not respond in a timely manner.
