According to a newly released survey from PwC U.S. and CSO in conjunction with Carnegie Mellon University and the United States Secret Service, the 2015 U.S. State of Cybercrime Survey has found that despite a years worth of high profile data breaches and security incidents, “few policies and processes are better than they were a year ago.”
The survey polled over “500 executives of U.S. businesses, law enforcement services, and government agencies regarding the frequency and impact of cybercrime incidents, cybersecurity threats, information security spending, and the risks of third-party business partners in private and public organizations,” of which 79% said they had discovered a incident in the last year. Reported security incidents per organization increased from 135 last year to 163 this year, but some of the good news is that 45% of respondents have increased IT security spending since last year.
