In a new report on Cyber Security in the Insurance Sector, the New York State Department of Financial Services reported that insurance carriers could be hackers next targets.
According to the report, “35% of insurers experienced between one and five breaches over the past three years, with an additional 2% reporting between six and 10 breaches, and 5% of carriers experiencing more than 10.”
Carriers are a prime target for hackers because they maintain large amounts of personally identifiable information and protected health information. Property Casualty 360 has the whole story.
