CIAB Welcomes 11 New Member Firms, 4 New Sponsor Partners

WASHINGTON, D.C. – October 5, 2020 – The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers welcomed 11 new member firms and 4 new sponsors during 2020. The new members include: Ascoma International (Paris, France); Captive Resources (Itasca, IL); Fallon Benefits Group (Atlanta, GA); Integrated Specialty Coverages (Carlsbad, CA); JGS Insurance (Holmdel, NJ); K2 Insurance Services (San Diego, CA); Kam y Asociados (Panama City, Panama); The Mahoney Group (Mesa, AZ); Pacific Prime (Hong Kong, China); Patriot Growth Partners (Ft. Washington, PA); and Sterling Capital Brokers (Toronto, Canada).

“2020 has brought new challenges and opportunities to the insurance brokerage industry,” said Ken A. Crerar, President/CEO of The Council. “The Council is grateful for the perspectives each of these new member firms provide as we continue to navigate these unprecedented times.”

“Now more than ever it is critical for the leaders in the insurance industry to come together and build on each other’s expertise,” said David Becker, CEO of Cottingham & Butler in Dubuque, Iowa, and The Council’s 2020 Chairman. “By becoming members of The Council, these new firms are not only exemplary examples of leadership within their own communities, but they also show a commitment to excellence as industry leaders.”

The Council also welcomed four new Event Sponsors to its flagship meetings—the Insurance Leadership Forum (ILF) and the Employee Benefits Leadership Forum (EBLF)—in 2020: CyberCube (ILF); Health Care Service Corporation (EBLF); Springbuk (EBLF); and Two Sigma Insurance Quantified (TSIQ) (ILF). Additionally, three partners increased their investment in The Council: ReSource Pro (Gold to Platinum Partner); OneBeacon, an Intact Insurance company (Event to Gold Partner); and UnitedHealthcare and Optum (Event to Gold Partner).

“Throughout this difficult year, our community has received tremendous support from our partners,” said Becker. “By contributing to The Council’s ongoing efforts to guide our industry through these trying times, our sponsors have shown us the true definition of partnership. We cannot thank them enough.”

The Council hosts the 107th annual Insurance Leadership Forum virtually this week.
