According to the FBI, cybercrime is their number one criminal priority. However, “less than five percent of computer intrusions are successfully prosecuted,” explains Tom Kellermann of InformationWeek. Consequently, this inadequate legal framework leaves both hackers on the streets and corporations on their own when it comes to protecting intellectual property, finances, and most importantly, customers.  Kellermann explains his view on why chief information security officers (CISOs) need a broader mandate, expanding their jurisdiction to security and risk management instead of just the datacenter.
