This evening, Congress passed legislation reauthorizing the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to May 31, 2019. The measure is expected to be signed by the President, narrowly averting a reauthorization lapse.

Seven other government agencies did not make it through the regular appropriations cycle and may have to follow shutdown procedures, including: the USDA, Department of Justice, Department of Commerce (NASA, NOAA), Department of Transportation (FAA, Amtrak), Homeland Security (TSA, FEMA), State Department, and the Department of the Interior.
