Intel Security recently reported that cyber attacks against critical infrastructure often lead to physical damage and may lead to death in the future, according to SC Magazine.
Ordered by The Aspen Institute, “Holding the Line Against Cyber Threats: Critical Infrastructure Readiness Survey,” 625 IT experts were polled who work in critical infrastructure in the U.S. and Europe.
89 percent of respondents reported, “that they had experienced at least one attack on a system within their organisation, which they deemed secure, over the last three years, with 72 percent saying that the threat level of attacks was escalating.”
Half of the respondents reported they have suffered an attack that had caused damage, and 48 percent reported that within the next three years there is a good chance of a critical infrastructure attack that will lead to the possibility of the loss of life.
