One of the many topics that was tossed around at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland by the world’s elites was that of cybersecurity. Although executives from Target and Home Depot were not present, their firms were often the topic of discussion due to their recent data breaches.
The atmosphere surrounding cybersecurity seemed generally pessimistic, with many executives expecting 2015 to be far worse. John Chambers, CEO of Cisco stated, “the number of security incidents this year will be exponentially greater than last year,” and Vishal Sikka, CEO of India based Infosys argued, “we haven’t seen the worst yet, I think we’ll see five times as many bad incidents as we did last year.” The New York Times has the full story and pessimistic cyber forecast from the world’s elite in Switzerland.
