Democratic Donor is Latest Victim of Document Hack

Last weekend, cybercriminals with supposed Russian ties publicly released 2,000 documents relating to billionaire Democratic donor George Soros and his Open Society Foundation, according to a recent article from The Hill. The leaked documents reveal information regarding his Foundation’s public health, human rights and education programs as well as his personal opposition to “hard-right” conservatives. On Sunday, the hackers posted that “Soros is an oligarch sponsoring the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton, [and] hundreds of politicians all over the world.” While the hackers claim to be “American hacktivists who respect and appreciate freedom of speech, human rights and government of the people, the similarities in the recent number of cyber-attacks and data breaches on the DNC and democratic politicians provide further evidence that the Russian government is in some way involved with the
