In the annual 2014 DHS’s inspector general report, it was found that the department is still having trouble incorporating its 22 separate components into a “single, cohesive organization capable of fulfilling a broad, vital, and complex mission.’’
Furthermore, the report outlined the struggles that DHS faces in “sharing and integrating cyber threat information among five Federal cyber operations centers and collaborating with them to respond to cyber security incidents.”
Finally, the report stated that DHS would continue to face cyber security and information sharing challenges until there is “a better and more standardized way to report cybersecurity incidents.”
