Partners HealthCare recently announced that it is notifying 3,300 patients that it has suffered a major breach and their personal information may have been compromised. The healthcare organization, which includes Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, North Shore Medical Center, and Newton-Wellesley Hospital, said “a group of employees had received “phishing” emails, and had provided information in response to the emails,” which gave the hackers access to Partners HealthCare’s network.

As Mayweather – Pacquiao were dancing around the ring on Saturday night the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas was reporting that “hackers may have stolen data related to credit and debit cards at some of its retail and service locations.”

A cyberattack was responsible for ongoing interruptions in internet services at Rutgers University, which officials from the Office of Information and Technology attributed to a distributed denial of service attack.

Ryanair fell victim to an online criminal scam, which led to $5 million being transferred from one of their bank accounts by cyber criminals.

And lastly, Sally Beauty Holdings Inc. is investigating “unusual credit and debit card activity at some of its U.S. stores,” which would be their second data breach in less then a year.
