Earlier this week, President Obama’s homeland security and counterterrorism assistant, Lisa Monaco, unveiled the new Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center, which is expected to be based in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
According to a source in the administration, “the center will connect the dots between various cyber threats to the nation so that relevant departments and agencies are aware of these threats in as close to real time as possible.” Monaco made the announcement during a speech at the Wilson center, which can be found here.
According to a senior administration official, the center “will not itself collect intelligence” but will instead, “analyze and integrate information already collected under existing authorities.”
