The Treasury Department is teaming up with the Department of Homeland Security to assist in their “efforts to promote the creation of Information Sharing and Analysis Organizations (ISAOs) and to develop voluntary standards for how they function,” according to a recent Treasury blog post.
Treasury is looking to support President Obama’s recent cybersecurity initiatives and pointed to its first-hand experience and success in working with “the industry-led Financial Sector Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC).” Treasury is collaborating with DHS and FS-ISAC to automate the information sharing process, which will “allow organizations to automatically generate machine-readable reports and share them with trusted partners who can process the information and rapidly take action to protect against similar threats.”
